Role plays (petite scenarios) are today an essential element of an ELL classroom. Tamara Guerin, a professional ELL teacher and curricula author in France, draws on her creative background in professional television writing to develop dynamic, on-topic, role plays. For a class of 20-30 students, a 5 minute scenario involving five participants is recommended. However, for larger class projects, up to a 30 minute scenario is appropriate.
